Brian Harman, a junior at Georgia University, broke the tournament scoring record in the 49th Porter Cup, shooting 22 under par, to win by nine stokes and move to No 30 in The R&A World Amateur Golf Ranking.
Harman beat a strong amateur field at Niagra Falls Country Club, New York; World No 4 Chris Kirk finished second, with Billy Horschel, who moved up four places to No 2, and Jason Kokrak, who rose from No 83 to 54, in a share of third place.
In a similarly dominant display, Daniel Willett captured the South of England Amateur at Walton Heath. The young Englishman won by ten strokes, from countryman Ben Evans, with a total of 277. The win moved Willet up 58 places to No 58, with Evans moving to up 14 places to No 221.
Jamie Lovemark remains at No 1 in The R&A World Amateur Golf Ranking. The University of Southern California Junior has been at the top of the ranking for 8 weeks.
