Three South Americans have made significant moves this week. Esteban Martinez of Argentina has jumped 32 places to fifth in the R&A World Amateur Golf Ranking with a joint second-best performance in the individual honours of the Copa Los Andes. Held at Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Las Palmas, the event was won by the host country, Bolivia, whose most successful team member, Daniel Patino, enters the list at No 631.
With victory in the Herb Wimberly Intercollegiate at Las Cruces, New Mexico, Sergio Franky of Colombia also breaks into the Ranking at 1150.
At Greensboro, North Carolina, a good performance by current Western Amateur Champion, Jharad Hack (USA), in the UNCG Bridgestone Championship has moved him up 37 places to No 29 in the Ranking. Although this event was won by Louisville University's Derek Fathauer, Derek has dipped two places to No 20 after subsequently missing the cut in the USPGA Tour's Ginn sur Mer Classic.
