Kyle Stanley and Jorge Campillo both won events last week to climb the World Amateur Golf Ranking.
Stanley has already enjoyed a good 2008, having won the Southern Amateur earlier this year and qualified to play in this year's US Open at Torrey Pines. He won the Carpet Capital Collegiate tournament to jump 11 places and reach 12th in the rankings. With the rankings tightly packed ahead of him, another good performance in the next few weeks will likely see him edge into the top 10.
Spain's Jorge Campillo has been a regular fixture in the top five of the rankings this year, yet dropped down to sixth a few weeks ago after failing to finish in the top-10 at the European Amateur. Having now returned to US college golf he has wasted no time in putting things right, however, and his victory in the Wolf Run Intercollegiate lifts him three places to third in the world, just behind second-placed Rickie Fowler.
