In Week 49, Deyen Lawson has entered the Ranking at number 3321 after winning the Dunes Medal at The Dunes Golf Club on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula. Opening rounds of 75 and 71 had left Lawson trailing half-way leader Matt Steiger. However, a peerless third round of eight-under-par 64, which equalled the course record set by Bryden McPherson and Alistair Presnell, gave the Lonsdale Open Amateur Champion an advantage that he would consolidate with a final round of 68 to claim a three-stroke victory.
Up in Singapore, Joshua Shou won the 5th National Ranking Game by two shots from Edgar Oh. Rounds of 73, 71 and 74 around the 7,022-yard Tampines course at Tanah Merah Country Club gave Shou a three-round, winning total of two-over-par 218. He is rewarded with an 59-place ascent up the Ranking to WAGRank 312.
Finally, Chinese Taipei’s Hung Chien-yao took the Acer National Fall Ranking event at Nan Pao Golf and Country Club. He fired rounds of 70,72, 71 and three-under-par 69 to snatch victory by one shot from Lee Chieh-po, and make an two-place move to 40th.
The USA’s Peter Uihlein remains the World Amateur Golf Ranking Number One.
