  • Tous earns his first world ranking, becoming the world’s 4,457th best amateur

John conquers Argentina

  • Australian Cameron John jumps 165 places thanks to victory in the Campeonato Argentino de Aficionados Copa FiberCorp in Argentina
  • John defeated Brazilian Andre Tourinho 2&1 in the final 
  • He moves to world number 563 as a result 
  • Tourinho’s consolation is a move into the top 70, rising five positions to 68th

Kruse cruises to Harry Oppenheimer win

  • South African Philip Kruse hardly put a foot wrong in winning the Harry Oppenheimer Trophy in his homeland. 
  • He won by five shots after scores of 67, 68, 65 and 72 gave him a 16-under-par total of 272 
  • He moves 111 spots to 309th 
  • Second place Herman Loubser rises 52 rankings to world number 264

  • American Corey Pereira is the only new top 20 player
  • He edges up one spot to 20th

  • Former U.S. Junior champion Will Zalatoris is the only player to break into the top 50

Princess Mary reigns in Malaysia

  • Princes Mary Superal of the Philippines improves her status on this week’s World Amateur Golf RankingTM after winning the Sabah International Junior Masters in Malaysia
  • Superal returned a closing 5-under-par 67 at Sabah Golf Club in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia for a 9-under-par total of 207
  • She ran out an eight-shot winner over compatriot Pauline del Rosario
  • Superal’s first victory since the San Francisco Junior Championship last August sees her rise 23 rankings to 173rd 
  • A five-ranking rise to 259th is del Rosario’s consolation for finishing runner-up

Liu earns second straight win

  • China’s Yan Liu made it two wins in two weeks when she won the HSBC China Junior Team Championship in her homeland
  • It follows on from last week’s victory in the China Amateur Tour – Leg 9 tournament
  • Liu climbs 22 rankings to 503rd

Zeballos savours home victory

  • Argentinean Agustina Zeballos won the Campeonato Argentino de Aficionadas Copa FiberCorp. 
  • Zeballos, the number one seed, defeated countrywoman Ela Belen Anacona by one hole. 
  • Zeballos jumps 356 places this week to 394th
  • Anacona rises 253 spots to 596th

  • There are no new faces in either the top 20 or 50, while Australian Elizabeth Elmassian is the only player to breach the top 100
  • She improves 31 positions to 89th

  • Argentina’s Agustina Gomez Cisterna is the week’s most improved player
