2) CHANGES TO ALLOCATION OF MATCH PLAY POINTS

The allocation of Match Play Points will be amended to better reflect all match play rounds played, wins and losses.

Points will be allocated using the below table:

Winner Runner-up Semi-finalist Q-finalist Round of 16 Round of 32 1st Rnd Loss
Elite 23 21 19 17 15 13 8
A 21 19 17 15 13 11 8
B 19 17 15 13 11 9 8
C 17 15 13 11 9 8 8
D 15 13 11 9 8 7 7
E 13 11 9 8 7 6 6
F 11 9 8 7 6 5 5
G 9 8 7 6 5 4 4

To determine points awarded in any event, go to the column that indicates the player’s finishing position, and multiply that figure by the number of rounds played. The “1st Round Loss” column is used even if the event has fewer than 6 rounds.

Example 1:

- Category A event with 6 rounds:

  • Winner gets 21 points * 6 rounds played = 126 points and 6 divisors
  • Runner-up gets 19 points * 6 rounds played = 114 points and 6 divisors
  • Semi-finalist gets 17 points * 5 rounds played = 85 points and 5 divisors
  • Quarterfinalist gets 15 points * 4 rounds played = 60 points and 4 divisors
  • Player who loses in the third round (Round of 16) gets 13 points * 3 rounds played = 39 points and 3 divisors
  • Player who loses in the second round (Round of 32) gets 11 points * 2 rounds played = 22 points and 2 divisors
  • Player who loses in the first round (Round of 64) gets 8 points * 1 round played = 8 points and 1 divisor

Example 2:

- Category F event with 4 rounds (starts at Round of 16):

  • Winner gets 11 points * 4 rounds played = 44 points and 4 divisors
  • Runner-up gets 9 points * 4 rounds played = 36 points and 4 divisors
  • Semi-finalist gets 8 points * 3 rounds played = 24 points and 3 divisors
  • Quarterfinalist gets 7 points * 2 rounds = 14 points and 2 divisors
  • Player who loses in the first round (Round of 16) gets 5 points * 1 = 5 points and 1 divisor
