Valenzuela represented her country in the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, one of three amateurs in the field. She finished 21st. The Geneva resident forced her way up the WAGR table with three big victories in 2015, winning the Doral Publix Junior Classic, Junior Orange Bowl International Golf Championship and Spanish International Amateur Stroke Play. She started 2016 by finishing runner-up in the Portuguese Ladies Amateur before excellent results on the Ladies European Tour. She was fifth in the Lalla Meryem Cup and fourth in the Tipsport Golf Masters. She made the cut in the U.S. Women’s Open and was joint low amateur in the ANA Inspiration. In September she began her college golf career at Stanford University.
