STATEMENT ON THE WORLD RANKINGS FOR GOLFERS WITH DISABILITY
In order to reflect the postponement or cancellation of numerous events which would normally feed into the WR4GD system a decision has been made to pause the ageing process for events on players’ records (that is, no events will fall off anyone’s record during this pause). This decision was made to ensure players who are unable to play are not unduly disadvantaged. During the ageing pause, a player’s average will not change unless their record has. The rankings will continue to be published each week to reflect any other changes. The WR4GD team will continue to monitor the situation and will advise when ageing can restart from the point it was paused.
The World Ranking for Golfers with Disability (WR4GD) ranks the top golfers with disability on the basis of their average performance in Counting Events over a rolling cycle of the previous 104 weeks.
WR4GD is offered by The R&A and the United States Golf Association as a global service to golf. Through incorporation and assessment of worldwide events, WR4GD encourages the international development of the competitive game.
